The Write Path Beginnings...
In 1996 while I was languishing in the doldrums of life, a friend suggested I try some creative writing. Why not? I thought. The decision stirred me from the slumber of monotony. Attending a weeklong workshop rekindled my enthusiasm. It also offered a new slant to my career. The Write Path was born of that decision.
At the time, The Write Path seemed like a bold experiment. Today my convictions about the power of personal writing suffer no doubt. Creative strokes inspire the living and waken the dead.
The Write Path is about discovery. It's about emotional, spiritual and physical health. Meeting in groups, Write Path writers take a path - the right path - which breathes life and energy into their lives. Writing makes us pay attention. As a student once said, "When I talk with others, I consciously or unconsciously twist my thoughts into what I feel the other person wants to hear. Alone on the page, I write what I actually think."
Language and stories play and replay in our minds every day. If the narrative makes sense, we relax. If not, we feel baffled and stuck. When life is perplexing, for any reason, free-style writing helps untangle the confusion. On The Write Path people come together to gain the confidence and clarity needed to move forward.
Why write in a group? A trained facilitator gently re-directs any wrong path writing such as the rehashing of self-criticism and unwarranted negativity. Besides, magic happens when stories are shared. In this non-critical, supportive place, people want to share their thoughts.
The power of writing is accessible to anyone who desires self-directed change. It requires no special talent, skills or experience. A walk on The Write Path is a memorable journey to a brighter destination. I invite you to take a stroll through these pages. Feel free to contact me to learn more.
Sincerely,
